I grew up with two immigrant parents from the Ukraine and a cultural love of food. Food, to me, is sitting around a table with family and talking about everything and anything. The kitchen, at least in my life, is Grand Central Terminal. It’s busy, loud, social, and where everyone ends up eventually. Garlic is also like central station. We used it in everything, raw or cooked and still use it today. I even ate it raw on toast as a kid and still do. One of my favorite dishes is garlic rubbed toast with cream cheese. It’s the stinky, delicious food I grew up loving and the reason for the name Garlic Baby. I am a Garlic Baby because I was born into a garlic loving family.
